Language proficiency assessment: testing body and authority
The ICAO language proficiency tests are conducted as the “ICAO Level” test of the language testing body (LTB) LTB 112, based in Leonding (Austria). GAT organises the appointments and conducts the test. LTB 112 carries out the second assessment and issues the certificate.
The testing body is approved and supervised by Austro Control GmbH, Schnirchgasse 17, 1030 Vienna, Austria, the Austrian aviation authority. The approval is based on FCL.055 of Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 (Approval Certificate No. LTB-112 ).
The examiners are certified by Austro Control as Language Proficiency Examiners: A-126-LPE, A-143-LPE, A-187-LPE. You can check this in the official Austro Control lists .
Neither GAT nor LTB 112 is on the list of testing centres approved directly by AESA. Spanish rules provide that AESA accepts certificates from testing bodies whose method has been approved by another State’s aviation authority under Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 (Orden FOM/1146/2019, Art. 17.2 ). AESA enters the endorsement in the licence at the holder’s request. To endorse English, AESA also requires English radiotelephony (RT) privileges in section XII of the licence; our test does not grant these privileges. Our AESA guide explains how it works.
Prices
All prices on this website are final prices in euros, including VAT. Appointments from 8 pm, at weekends and on public holidays carry a surcharge: the amount and the total price are shown in the calendar before you book. As this is an online service, there are no delivery costs. AESA’s own fee for the endorsement is not included in our prices. Our terms and conditions set out the contract terms.
Codes of conduct
We have not signed up to any code of conduct.
Consumer dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer dispute resolution body.
The EU online dispute resolution platform no longer exists: Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 abolished it with effect from 20 July 2025. If you have a complaint, please email us at info@german-aviation-training.de. We reply in writing in English or Spanish.
